about
“I Need You” isn’t the single you’d expect to follow Climbing the Wall. The plaintive feel of the seemingly resigned opening narrative is quickly juxtaposed by a catchy and energetic chorus. The whole song then turns on its head with the bridge’s hopeful proclamation: “We can fix it all, mend the scars, climb over these walls we built, can’t you feel me reaching out to you?” Marcs’ signature soaring vocals remain, providing an angelic vocal descant over the final reprises of “I Need You.”
lyrics
I've been trapped in the past
Searching through memories
Searching for truth
I remember being so
Unwanted and alone
Where were you?
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh
I needed you, I needed you
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh
I needed you, I needed you
You said I'd never change
Can't you see me
Look how I grew
Years tore us apart
Lies neglect and broken hearts
I still need you
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh
I needed you, I needed you
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh
I needed you ooh, yeah ...
Some bonds will never break
No matter the mistakes we make
And babe, we made a few
We can fix it all
Mend the scars climb over these walls we built
Oh, can't you feel me reaching out to you
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh
I needed you, I needed you (Oh I need you)
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh ( Oh, I need you, I need you, I need you)
I needed you, I needed you (I need you)
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh (I need you oooh)
I needed you-ooh-ooh, you-ooh-ooh
I needed you, I needed you (Oooh)
